REAL CLIENT CASE STUDY
Marlborough Basketball Association
Website Design / Copywriting
Marlborough Basketball Association needed a new website that could better serve its growing community. Their existing site was difficult to manage, outdated, and no longer reflected the energy of the sport or the scale of their programmes.
With goals to boost participation, attract more coaches and volunteers, and increase sponsorship opportunities, a well-structured, engaging online presence was essential.

The approach.
The original site was built on Squarespace, which the admin team found too difficult to update—resulting in outdated content and low engagement. The design lacked energy, didn’t reflect the spirit of the sport, and wasn’t acting as a hub for players, volunteers, or supporters. Key information was hard to find, sponsors weren’t well represented, and core functionality like calendars, policies, and event registration was missing.
I rebuilt the site from the ground up on Wix—creating a platform that was easy for the MBA team to manage and update themselves. Using the existing branding and colour palette, I gave the design a much-needed injection of personality and structure. All of the original content was rewritten and reformatted to be clearer, more accessible, and functional.
The new site features an events calendar, registration functionality, and sections for policies, sponsors, and community news—making it a true hub for the basketball community in Marlborough.
